The 0-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel to Mall of America Field to play the host and also 0-1 Minnesota Vikings this Sunday September 18th, 2011 at 1 PM ET.
The line has been released by BetOnline Sportsbook and has the Vikings as -3 point favorites with a total of 41.5 for this game.
The Minnesota Vikings, after posting a dismal 39 passing yards at San Diego, will now have Donovan McNabb in front of a home crowd for the first time in a Vikings uniform for a regular season game. He will face a Tampa Bay defense that allowed 305 passing yards and three touchdowns to Matthew Stafford and the Lions.
Certainly the challenge here will be for a Tampa Bay defense to stop Adrian Peterson at home, in order to stay in this game and avoid the play action they need to hold the Vikings running game in check, not promising considering they allowed 126 rushing yards to the Lions.
Josh Freeman threw a 5-yard scoring pass to Mike Williams with less than two minutes to go for the only offensive Tampa Bay touchdown, and considering the Bucs deficient defense displayed on week one this seems like it will be the case again.
Tampa Bay coach Raheem Morris stated that he regrets going to the passing game so early in the game, so he will likely enter this one trying to establish the run and giving more touches to running back LeGarrette Blunt. This strategy may work, as the Vikings have not showed particularly good rhythm in the passing game. Defensive control will likely dominate here as both offenses seem to be struggling early in the season. Take the under 41.5!
