The New York Jets will kick off the NFL Season at home against their AFC East division rival Buffalo Bills on Sunday September 9th, 2012 at 1 PM ET.
This game is available for betting at BetOnline Sportsbook and the Jets are listed as 5 point favorites with a total of 42.5 for their season opener.
Much has been said about Tim Tebow´s arrival to the big city this offseason as a backup for Mark Sanchez, with duties in the Wild Card package that OC Tony Sparano loves to run and did so successfully with Miami in previous years. This game also has the implication of defining the runner up in this division, just behind the New England Patriots in hierarchy.

It seems as if Buffalo is going to have an elite defense this year despite finishing 26th in team defense last season with the addition of Mario Williams and Mark Anderson to boost their defensive line and the drafting of corner Stephon Gilmore in the first round. The Jets are also doing some renovating on defense of their own as they are currently switching from a 3-4 scheme to a four-man front in 2012 to take the defense to another level, which will in theory allow the Jets to put their best players on the field, as well as matching up better with their AFC East opponents, specifically to be succesfull at rushing the passer.
This will likely be a game of defensive showcase, with plenty of additions on both teams units. Considering the fact that defenses usually come in at a better pace than the offenses in the start of the season this game should stay under the points. Bet the game to stay under the points now!
