The Indianapolis Colts will open the 2012 NFL season visiting Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday, September 9th 2012 at 1 PM ET.

This game is available for betting via BetOnline Sportsbook and the Bears are listed as 9.5 point favorites with a total of 41.5

Andrew Lucks first regular season game as the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts will be a tough one, one in which he will have to deal with Brian Urlacher in the middle of the field, as well with one of the truly elite pass rushers in the league In Julius Peppers. That can be a daunting task for an experienced quarterback, let alone a rookie one.

Another big question mark for this game is how much damage a a healthy and fresh Mart Forte will be able to inflict on the Colts defense, which has been one of the worse against the run for some years now. Last season the Colts ranked 30th against the run, surrendering an average of 144 rushing yards per game, however no unit on the Colts roster will take on a new look more in 2012 than the defensive line.

The addition of new faces and some positional changes along the front, the line has a variety of options as the Colts make their way through OTAs this offseason. One of the first moves the Colts made was signing a pair of former Baltimore Ravens defensive linemen in Brandon McKinney and Cory Redding, to strengthen the middle of their defense.

We still do not have sufficient information on how this Colts offense will function starting the season under a rookie quarterback and with a doubtful running game, however the Bears will have something to offer with the reunion of Brandon Marshall and quarterback Jay Cutler, which has proven to be one of the most productive in the past. Proving they can get their offensive line woes resolved, stopping them should be a very tough task for a Colts defense to acomplish. We like the Bears to cover at this point.
