Although some doubted its possibility, Houston Texans running back Steve Slaton stated on his Twitter account Tuesday that he has indeed been medically cleared to practice when the team opens its training camp next month.
“Thanks everyone for their thoughts but … I’m back,” Slaton wrote. “Thank you lord for watching over me and helping me heal fast and correctly.”
Slaton, who underwent a cervical neck fusion surgery in the offseason, had his latest checkup in Dallas on Monday and apparently everything came back clean. Thanks to injuries and a lack of ball security, Slaton’s production really fell off from his 2008 rookie season. Now he’s battling Arian Foster and Ben Tate for playing time.
